Tour guides Sonja and Roger Wanner will lead you through Switzerland.
Dear friends of the dragon smith,
We are planning a trip through Switzerland early August 2009 and are hoping to motivate some of you to join us.
The journey will take about 2 weeks. From Wölflinswil we will be heading towards the french speaking part of Switzerland. Occasionally we will set foot on french soil. This way we will be driving through the beautiful and known areas of the Jura
along several rivers and valleys towards Lausanne ( Lake Geneva ).
We continue our way trough the wine regions north of Lake Geneva.
In Lac Suterain we can take a boat ride on the subterranean lake.
Next stop is Brig. We are in the middle of the mountains and will cross over the Simplonpass (2005 meters over sea level)
and drive down the Domodossola Valley to Italy.
The tour takes us along the coast line of Lago Maggiore
to Cannobio back into Switzerland to Locarno. From there drive through the beautiful Valley of Leventina up to Saint Gottard to the Nufenenpass ( 2478 meters over sea level ),
down to Gletsch
and back up again over the Furkapass (2431 meters of sea level).
We continue our trip by passing through the valley of Adermatt
climbing up to the Oberalppass (2044 meters of sea level)
over the Splügenpass (2113 meters of sea level)
where we once again will be on italian soil. From there we will visit the Valle S. Giacomo
turn into the Val Bregaglia
cross over the Malojapass
and St. Moritz.
From S.Moritz our tour will take us to Zernetz, Susch (1426 meters of sea level)
over the Flüelapass (2383 meters over sea level)
down to Davos.
We return a small section to Alvaneu, Tiefenkastel, where we are surrounded by tall mountains again. From there we will be heading to Lenzerheide, Valbella, Churwalden
(with one of the longest summer bob sleigh tracks of the world) to Chur and Sargans where we will take a detour to Vaduz in Liechtenstein.
The scenic tour follows along the lake of Walen and lake Zurich to Küssnacht and Luzern.
The final route leads along the lake of Sempach a last pass and back to Wölflinswil.
The tour takes us through mountains even where there is eternal snow and valleys with rivers and lakes past fruit- and wine regions.
Accommodations are hotels, lodges, pensions and mountain cabin with dormitory.
Trekking shoes required. Appropriate clothing for the mountain regions is recommended.
Boat- and mountain cable car trips may be individually included.
In case of more than 12 participants a minibus and over 20 participants a tourbus will be organized.
Due to organizational reasons only registrations until mid Dezember 2008 will be considered. We are looking forward to having many participants.
